Quaint pho place. I ordered the pho dac biet with sate soup. I thought the soup was great. Price was ok, but they're cash only. I would be returning and trying the other items on the menu. See you next time.

Grilled Minced Pork, Shredded Pork & Spring Roll on Rice Vermicelli
Review: Eh this place is really good for the price I guess. But honestly the price is pretty "cheap" just because the restaurant is in Vancouver and is competing with SO MANY other restaurants nearby. I think the quality is really on the line, just acceptable enough to be called "quality"? Let's start with my dish. The "grilled minced pork" was not grilled, in fact it was fried and the spring roll was burnt pretty bad. It seems as though the chefs were in a big rush and did not seem to care much about the "quality" that they would serve to their customers. The thing is, there really wasn't a lot of customers, a decent amount, but not enough to excuse their lousy quality. They also didn't give me enough fish sauce to go with the meal Although I am not viet and I would not call myself a pho expert, I think I've eaten enough pho in my life to know how it should at least "vaguely?" taste. My mom couldn't finish her pho so I helped her and from my LIMITED knowledge, when you make beef broth, you need to boil the bones ONCE BEFORE, THROW AWAY THE LIQUID from that boiling, WASH the bones to GET RID OF ALL IMPURITIES and then boil the bones a second time with spices and vegetables or add whatever. And when there's scum on the top you HAVE to take it away. But the broth in this place's pho was very cloudy and oily which isnt really a good sign for broth IN GENERAL. However, they give a lot of food for the price you pay so if you don't mind the quality lacking a bit and you are broke then I think I would recommend this place for you. Overall, I probably would not come here again Rating: 5/10: I feel mean but honesty is key -

"Authentic Phõ + Vietnamese interior design."
(: ordered the ripe beef and meatball phõ and curry beef with rice.
(: just like other Vietnamese Phõ restaurants, they serve a plateful of bean sprouts, green onions, coriander, culantro (nope, not cilantro), and lime wedges prior to serving the actual Phõ. (where is the Thai basil??)
(: This detail is not to be overlooked; the freshness of the herbs and bean sprouts could bring out the best taste in the Phõ if done properly. Phõ Tan serves it pretty well.
(: curry beef with rice is quite authentic! I would recommend it if you are into curry with high viscosity. Spiciness is just right; it might not be your cup of tea if you love spicy food.
(: the interior legitimately reminds me of Hanoi; authentic Vietnamese design.
/: good food doesn't necessarily come with good service; service is alright.
(: overall, let the stars speak for themselves! -

I'm not too sure what other reviewers are talking about regarding the pho but their Satay Peanut Pho (#16) is fucking bomb and is perfect the way it is. I've tried satay pho elsewhere and it's no where close to this. I love the thickness of the soup and clearly the coconut milk is the "secret ingredient".
I've been coming here just for this soup since they opened so that's quite some time now. Don't get me wrong, their other pho is good too but I can't come here and not get their #16 (I only reference it by its number on the menu). Compared to other places their meat to noodle ratio is almost on par. For every bite of noodle there's almost a piece of meat to go with it.
As for service and ambiance it's actually above average I would say. Like other pho restaurants it's family run and they're quite friendly. I wouldn't say they're rude at all especially with the language barrier. The restaurant itself is cleaner than your average pho restaurant on the east side but still with the feel of an authentic Vietnamese vibe.
I can't review their other dishes since I only get one thing from here and their Vietnamese coffee which is pretty strong compared to other places. So if that's your jam then come here for their coffee too. In a nutshell, come here for their #16 (not if your have allergies doe). -

An update: I have tried both the viet coffee and banh mi. Banh mi was disappointing. It was a sub but not a vietnamese sub. It tasted nothing like it and the cucumber was stale. You can taste that it's been in the fridge for... awhile. The coffee was passable but again it's not very authentic.
Things to get:
Bun Bo Hue and Satay Pho are the winners so far.
